UTCN @ APAIE 2023 Conference, Bangkok (Thailanda)

A new activity, intended to contribute to academic connections as well as to the visibility of UTCN, together with that of the EUt+ alliance, is the participation in Conferences/Exhibitions/Fairs in the field of education. This year, between March 13-17, the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, together with Universidad Politécnica Cartagena, Université de Technologie de Troyes, Riga Tehniska Universitate and Hochschule Darmstat, all partners in the European Universities project, participated with a joint stand under the EUt+ identity at APAIE 2023 Conference, Asia-Pacific Association for International Education, event held in Bangkok, Thailand.

The EUt+ stand had two areas dedicated to the discussions, as well as two desks for the exhibition, thus benefiting from flexibility in organization, enough space for parallel activities and increased visibility within the exhibition. The way the program was coordinated allowed the fair distribution of the meetings between the partners, ensuring permanence in at least one of the presentation desks, as well as possible tours for discussions in the stands of other universities.

Partnership discussions and possible future mobilities for students and teaching staff to and from universities with technical study programs in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, India, Vietnam, Australia and USA were initiated during the APAIE Conference days.

The EUt+ structure, as well as the perspective of joint degrees and the European campus, were the elements most valued by all the universities which expresses their interest in future collaborations, appreciating the fact that EUt+ is the first European University to participate in such events as a single entity.

The full team comprised seven members: Michel Legault (UTT), Rafael Toledo Moreo (UPCT), Igors Tipans (RTU), Laura Stale (RTU), Ina Schnakenberg (H_DA) Jessica Mayer (H_DA) and Silivan Moldovan (UTC-N).

All the EUt+ partners’ representatives, with experience in these events, considered this form of participation under a common brand, with the presence of several members of the alliance, to be a real success, sending a message of unity and involvement this way, and at the same time improving the use of resources needed for such events.
