NAFSA, Washington, United States of America

Between 26 and 31 May 2019, The Technical University of Cluj-Napoca participated together with 23 other Romanian universities in the annual NAFSA Conference & Expo, the most prestigious international event in promoting educational offers. The conference brought together 3,500 universities from over 100 countries, with more than 10,000 participants expected. Romania was present with a pavilion having the motto “Study in Romania”.

Organized under the auspices of the National Council of Rectors of Romania, with the support of the Ministry of National Education, The Executive Agency for Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation Funding (UEFISCDI) and The ERASMUS National Agency (ANPCDEFP), the pavilion “Study in Romania” is an initiative for the internationalization of Romanian higher education promoted here: http://www.studyinromania.gov.ro

The message of the Romanian delegation was that we have in our country universities relevant in the global academic competitiveness, both in the field of education and in that of scientific research. Romania offers a high quality, adequate and safe study environment, as well as European level facilities on university campuses, at more competitive costs compared to other European countries.

Romanian universities have understood that higher education is part of a global competition that they can only cope with by increasing the quality of services provided and by proper promotion.

Along with the rectors of Romanian universities and over 70 representatives of the Romanian academic environment, the event was attended by the Secretary of State for Romanian Higher Education – Professor Gigel Paraschiv, as well as representatives of UEFISCDI (The Romanian Executive Agency for Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation Funding) and the Romanian National Erasmus Agency.

The NAFSA Annual Conference and Exhibition is the most important international event in the field of higher education.
