Testimonial, Eva ALEXANDER, SANTA LUCIA, CARAIBE

Could you introduce yourself and where do you study?

Hello, my name is Eva Alexander and I study at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca within the Faculty of Materials and Environmental Engineering

What was the challenges coming to Romania?

The hardest part coming to Romania was my flight situation. Coming from the other Western part of the world it was a very long commute to get here.

How has the international office helped you on your application coming to study in Romania?

The staff within the International Relations Office has been very helpful not only when I got to Romania but while I was still at home in my country. They try the best to answer all emails and questions as clearly as possible in any language native to you.

Could you let us know how was your first classes at the Technic University of Cluj-Napoca?

I unfortunately started classes a few weeks after the official starting date for school, however because we started the “Preparatory Year” online I was already familiar with most of my colleagues’ faces which made the transition a bit easier. Everyone is nervous for the first day of school so don’t worry too much!

What kind of service can the university implement to allow a better integration of international students?

I think that there should be more activities/outings catered for international students. Take us out to famous or interesting places around Cluj, night-outs, adventures etc. which can therefore build bonds within the group of students.

Would you recommend someone to study here at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca and why?

I would definitely recommend this school to anyone who is interested in obtaining a pure degree (bachelor’s, master, or PhD) and the fundamentals and skills that are needed for whichever career you decide to pursue next.
